What is
PTSD?
An essential prerequisite for a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder is that which I quote from the DSM-IV, [a publication of the
American Psychiatric Association (APA) which is the main professional organization of psychiatrists
and trainee psychiatrists in the United States,] and the bible of
Psychology, worldwide:
The essential feature of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
is the development of characteristic symptoms following exposure to an extreme traumatic stressor involving direct
personal experience of
an event that
involves actual or threatened death or serious injury, or other threat to
one's physical integrity; or witnessing an event that involves death, injury, or a threat to the physical
integrity of another person; or learning about unexpected or violent
death, serious harm, or threat of death or injury experienced
by
a
family
member
or
other close associate (Criterion A1). "
How PTSD affected Hugh Douglas McVean
The DSM-IV includes in its list as an "extreme traumatic
stressor" "severe Automobile accidents". This
event
definitely fits that criterion. "helplessness" is another
important criterion of PTSD. These events were totally out of the
control of Hugh McVean. I suggest, knowing Hugh McVean for over
42 years, that his characteristic of always wanting to be in control,
to the extent of being referred to as a 'control freak', is an expected
reaction to PTSD, and a feature which would reinforce a PTSD illness
rather than be an effective treatment of it.
"Flashbacks" is a popularly understood symptom of PTSD, but is not
essential. "Avoidance" is another symptom of PTSD. From the
first time I met Hugh McVean, this collision and the death of his
parents has never been discussed. In fact, prior to meeting Hugh
McVean for the first time, I was warned not to discuss the collision or
anything about his parents, as to do so would distress him greatly.. At
that meeting, a dinner with my parents at our home, I maintained a
jovial persona. Hugh had a very marked sullen
presence. That sullen nature has always been a feature of Hugh
McVean. Maybe that was
when he started to feel jealous of me. I was aged 17 and
enjoying life. My father permitted me to drive the family car
every Friday and Saturday night so I could go out and socialize.
I guess now that Hugh would have compared my jovial carefree nature,
[and I was exceedingly competent at school, and in Senior never needed
to do any homework], to his senior year when he had just lost his
parents the previous November.
Hugh was forced to relive the events when he was required to give evidence,
on 14th June, 1962,
to the inquest into the manner and cause of his parents' death..He
was forced to relive the events again when the Inquest findings were
released on 7th August, 1962. Those 'findings', being as they
were so corrupt, given that the paralytic parasitic Murderer named
Alfred Charles Organ, was completely exonerated, and that was followed
by a police white wash, cannot have eased the torment felt by Hugh
McVean.
Hugh McVean definitely
acquired the mental illness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD]
Another required symptom of PTSD is the the consequences of the trauma
extend for at least a month from the traumatic event. [Quoting
again from DSM-IV:
" The full symptom picture must be
present for more than 1 month (Criterion E), and the disturbance must
cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social,
occupational, or other important areas of functioning (Criterion F)."
In
1963,
I
have
been
told
that
Hugh failed his first year of his
Bachelor of Pharmacy degree course at The University of Queensland, and
that that was attributed to his being adversely affected by these
horrific traumatic events.
In 1962, PTSD was poorly understood. It is now recognized that
many soldiers returning to the US from service in Vietnam, in the 1960s
and 1970s, were suffering PTSD, but it remained untreated. That
situation is compared to the much better understanding of PTSD now, and
hence far better treatment of servicemen returning from service in Iraq.
Hugh McVean 'ADAPTED' to
'live' with
PTSD. This is NOT a CURE or RECOVERY.
Between 1964 and 1966 inclusive, Hugh McVean passed his university
courses. This does not necessarily mean that Hugh was
cured. There is no suggestion that Hugh suffered neurological
trauma in the collision. Hugh was not suffering from intellectual
disability. PTSD was not understood at that time. It is
unlikely that it was treated properly. [Knowing the lies and
cheating that looney Hugh has perpetrated against me like a 'snake in
the grass', suggests to me that he was not 'cured'.] It is likely
that any 'counselling' that looney Hugh received was directed at
'firing him up', to pass his subjects, rather than deal with the
underlying 'psychosis'. At the scene of the fatal collision, Hugh
was described as 'shocked'
and
'stupefied'.
That
was
truly a traumatic and horrifying tragedy for anyone.
That was clearly an extreme
traumatic stressor.
I suggest that the most likely counsel that looney Hugh received was to
use the anger and fury looney Hugh felt, to motivate him to 'conquer'
his studies. Also, to become determined and stealthy rather then
to be erratic. Of course, while Hugh was now able to pass his
studies, this did not cure his PTSD, but rather reinforced it.
I believe that Looney Hugh has become so 'comfortable' with 48
years of the PTSD, that Looney Hugh will deny that he has any problem
with PTSD. Looney is very close to his corrupt solicitors.
Looney Hugh has been a 'cash cow' for them. Were the REAL Hugh to
emerge, they would not only lose their 'cash cow', but would also be
susceptible to the facts that the REAL Hugh could divulge about the
corrupt advice they had given Looney Hugh. Looney Hugh will seek
their counsel. They will not be interested in Hugh's situation or
wellbeing, but rather be interested in protecting themselves.
Coral, my sister has been losing much due to the actions of Looney Hugh
McVean. In the early days, Coral viewed the Looney Hugh's sullen
nature as being the 'strong silent type', and Coral thought he looked
like Paul Newman when Coral had a crush on Paul Newman.
Clearly, Hugh could be forgiven for thinking that the WORLD had been
very mean to him; that the WORLD is an unfair place with unfair people.
As well as losing both of his parents, after hoping for three days
after the collision that his father would survive, Hugh had to deal
with the corrupt findings of the corrupt Coroner, Frederick William
Shepherd. That the corrupt coroner, Frederick William Shepherd,
had found, and could dismiss the McVean tragedy with a single line,
with no reasons for his decision, that "no criminal negligence can be
attributed to any party'. Clearly, Frederick William
Shepherd gave no reasons as there was absolutely no way to justify that
'finding'. Just as now, with corruption in the Queensland Police
Force, and in the courts, [with the added corruption of another 'level'
of the CMC, [Crime and Misconduct Commission]], in 1961 during the time
of notorious
corrupt
Police
Commissioner Frank Eric Bischof, corruption was also
endemic in the Queensland Police Department, and in the courts
including the Coroner's Court.
The REAL Hugh McVean would most assuredly be angry at the causes of his
loss. It would be appropriate that Real Hugh should direct that
anger at the reason for his loss; the official corruption, that existed
then, in 1961 and still persists today. We may be able to recruit
the REAL Hugh McVean to join us in our campaign against the official
government corruption in Australian Government including courts,
judiciary, legal profession, police public servants and government
commissions and commissioners.
Hugh's Children should feel angry at what has been criminally taken
from them: the love over many years of two more grandparents. My father had told me on a number of
occasions that Hugh McVean was jealous of
me. I did not give it much thought. Afterall,
I was very
ill at the time with undiagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, [OSA], and
the
consequences of misfortune and improper "medical" treatment following
false diagnosis.
My father gave the examples that following my year in 1975 of studying
Commerce at James Cook Uni in Townsville, Hugh began the same study in
1976, but did not continue. Another example was the way Hugh
tried to have my dog Mack
behave in the same way as he did with me when I picked him up in my
arms and said, "Give us a kiss, Mack," whereupon Mack would lick my
left ear once.
Mack was my dog. He was a cross between a Tri-colour Corgi mother, and
we were told, a cattle dog. He was like a dark coloured Corgi
with slightly longer legs. He saw me as his play mate as I played
with him for many hours each day, when he was a pup, and he remembered
that, and used to run upstairs to my bed every morning when he was let
off the chain to ensure I was there. We had him from mid 1964 to
some time in 1972, when Coral drove over him and killed him. I
think he was just four weeks old when we collected him. His
mother could not feed the litter. Mack cold barely walk at that
time. I remember him fondly.
The other reasons Dad gave for believing that Hugh McVean was jealous
of me was his general comments about me, repeatedly. This
included Hugh McVeans 'BBQ stopper' repeated ad nauseum when I was studying at
Uni during
the 1990s; that Hugh was paying taxes so I could go to Uni. The
actions towards me by Hugh McVean over the past 15 years have been
criminal in nature and included dishonesty and fraud. PTSD would
give him a complete defence.
The
FUTURE with Hugh McVean: REAL
Hugh McVean v. PTSD Hugh McVean aka Looney
Hugh.
It helps to understand Hugh McVean to think of him as being TWO Hugh
McVeans: the REAL Hugh McVean and PTSD Hugh McVean aka "Looney
Hugh". The very different PTSD Hugh McVean is the 'person' dating
since the horrific
tragedy,
PTSD Hugh McVean is mentally ill. He would be able to claim that
as a
full defence to the criminal acts that have been perpetrated against me
by PTSD Hugh McVean. The 'previous'
Hugh
McVean
was/is
the
REAL
Hugh
McVean. That was the Hugh McVean who collected
his
luggage
from
his
dormitory.
My approach now is that what I have lost, including many years of
personal enjoyment, and years with my parents, is lost. I
am not happy about it. Neither Hugh McVean is legally
liable. I
dislike intently what Looney Hugh has done to me. I have no real
redress, even if the courts were just and not corrupt.
Thankfully, the financial loss to the parasitic Looney Hugh, not to the
REAL Hugh McVean, [although, that loss in the past 15 years would
amount to many
millions of dollars], is paling into insignificance compared to the
value of my internet presence. While it is an 'abstract', its
value is very real. It is not fully, but barely, in
Australia. In fact, it is partly in, or passes through the
US. Thus, US laws are
invoked including FREEDOM of SPEECH; the FIRST AMENDMENT to the US
CONSTITUTION. While the value of my websites is much associated
with the
'goodwill' attached to the web traffic generated by the 'content'
recorded on servers, I could replicate this
very quickly, starting from scratch, with what I have learned.
Hence, I do not need to
recover anything from Looney Hugh. [Looney, as PTSD is a mental
illness.]
I can only hope that 'Looney Hugh' will be relegated to history,
and the REAL Hugh McVean will emerge. I will know when that
occurs and the REAL Hugh McVean will admit the lies that Looney Hugh
has told
to defraud me of millions of dollars. Until that eventuates, I
will know that he is still suffering PTSD. Looney Hugh is
taking his 'anger' out on anyone he chooses. That is a
shame as I am sure the REAL Hugh McVean would feel angry at the loss he
has suffered 48 years ago, AND ALL THE TIME SINCE THAT HE HAS SUFFERED
PTSD. It would have been appropriate for the REAL Hugh to direct
his anger at the police

that permitted that 75 year old drunken parasite Alfred
Charles Organ to be where he was to cause the death of Hugh's
Parents, Susan Mary McVean and Alexander Cameron McVean, & THEN
WHITEWASH the whole crime. All this is NOT just
history. Hugh McVean is still mentally ill with PTSD.
Hugh McVean definitely
acquired PTSD. This was as a consequence of the horrific loss
of his parents in the horrific collision and the fraudulent Criminal
'Coronial Inquest', that was a direct result of police corruption then
in Queensland due to the then Police
Commissioner
Frank
Bischof. Hugh failed his first year of Uni
in 1963. That confirmed
his
PTSD. His PTSD was NOT treated. It was poorly or even
totally not understood at that time. Instead, the PTSD Hugh
McVean aka Looney Hugh, materialized.
